Brant W. Tidwell, owner of The Tidwell Company, is a native Kansas Citian and the third generation of Tidwells in commercial real estate in Kansas City. His career began in Lawrence, Kansas, in 1982 when he earned a B.A. in Business Administration at the University of Kansas. He joined Kerr & Company, Realtors in 1984, specializing in the sale of investment property and land for development. Late in 1989, he formed The Tidwell Company. His vision was to establish a service-oriented firm that offered traditional commercial real estate brokerage services along with property management and tenant representation. Tidwell is a licensed Broker in Kansas, Missouri and Colorado. In 1987, Tidwell earned the Certified Commercial Investment Member Designation (CCIM). The designation recognizes professionals who have completed a rigorous graduate-level curriculum, passed a comprehensive examination, submitted graded demonstration reports and met a minimum production requirement. Among other achievements, Tidwell was awarded the "Chairman's Award for Distinguished Service" from KCRAR in 2008. He was honored as "Commercial Realtor of the Year" in 1996 by the Johnson County Board of Realtors. He was selected for membership in the 1987-88 class of Centurions, the leadership-development program of the Metropolitan Kansas City Chamber of Commerce. He is a member of both the Overland Park and Kansas City, Kansas Chamber of Commerce. He married Lucy Woodard of Kirkwood, Missouri in 1983. They have two
sons, Foster (born in 1988) and Calvin (born in 1990). They live in Prairie
Village, Kansas where they are both active as members of the community. Brant is an ordained Elder in the Presbyterian
Church. He is an Eagle Scout. He served as Scoutmaster of Troop 91, a troop of more than 100 boys, affiliated
with Village Presbyterian Church, until his retirement in 2006. Brant was awarded the Good Neighbor Award in 2006 by the Kansas Association of Realtors for his service to scouting (see KC Star article).
